APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When the DataStage client is working with jobs, intermittently
  the following message will appear in the WebSphere server
  SystemOut.log file:
    <Null Message>  java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
    Caused by:
    com.ibm.datastage.repository.exception.DSObjectNotFoundExcepti
    on: The object does not exist.
  The specific set of DataStage client actions that cause the
  null message is under investigation.  No error is observed by
  DataStage client at time server error is generated.

  The REST/API was filling up WAS logs intermittently with
  DSObjectNotFoundException exceptions
    - there were no obvious end-user errors being reported.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Apply fix for JR51689
  IMPORTANT: this patch needs to be installed on all tiers.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• A defensive code change has been applied which should prevent
  these exceptions being thrown & logged
