APAR status

Error description

  • PX Bridge in Netezza Connector does not clean-up when the job
    aborts, which causes DataStage jobs to hang on Windows
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When Netezza connector on parallel canvas encounters a failure,
    it aborts without doing  cleanup. Netezza Connector processes
    exits abruptly and leaves system resource handles  uncleaned.
    Later jobs may not be able to start causing system 'locked up'.
    

Problem conclusion

  • We implemented a mechanism to invoke Netezza CC callback before
    aborting a job, where Netezza CC can cleanup its thread.
