Error description

  • Istool import may fail with DuplicateImportIdentityException
for table definition with multiple foreign keys.

Local fix

  • Use DSX import

Problem summary

  • When importing DataStage metdata using istool or ismanager an
identity model is used to try
and determine if an object being imported should replace an
    existing object.
Each object in the import set must have a unique identitity.
Because of an error in the definition of the identity function
it is possible for more than one
valid DSForeignKeyDef objects to have the same identity
    resulting in an import failure.

Problem conclusion

  • Changing the identity function to include the id of the related
table and the name of the referenced
column thus ensuring uniqueness in all cases.

Temporary fix
