Error description

  • Surrogate Key Generator using Oracle Operator fails to find the
    correct file for processing the job.  A warning message like
    this is displayed:
    Message Id: IIS-DSEE-USBP-00002
    Message: Surrogate_Key_Generator,0: The system cannot find
    the file specified.
    An additional symptom of this problem is a log message like
    this:
    Connected to Oracle server 10.2.0.1.0 using Oracle client
    0.0.0.0.0
    where the Oracle Client version is reported as 0.0.0.0.0.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Multiple warning messages of the form:
    
    The system cannot find the file specified
    
    And Oracle Client version reported as "0.0.0.0.0"
    

Problem conclusion

  • An outdated mechanism for determining Oracle client version
    started to fail on Windows platform when MKS dependency was
    removed.
