JR44156: NETEZZA CONNECT JOBS HANG INTERMITTENTLY TRYING TO OPEN THE PIPE SECOND TIME

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Netezza Connector jobs might hang intermittently trying to open
    the pipe second time in cases where the stage processes zero
    records.
    
    This problem is mostly observed on Linux platforms.
    

Local fix

  • Identify the pipe in the /tmp folder for the problematic
    stage and pump in some data as
    
    echo "1" > /tmp/<pipe_name>
    

Problem summary

  • Netezza Connector jobs hang intermittently while trying to open
    the pipe second time.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been corrected to overcome the hang problem.
    

Temporary fix

  • Pump in some data to the pipe which gets created in the /tmp
    folder whenever the job gets hung, as
    
    echo "1" > /tmp/<machine-name>_....    --- pipe-name
