  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  On Unix, when DSAppWatcher is started via the ds.rc file, in
  some circumstances it can report its applications as not
  running. This is caused by the ps listing used to identify its
  applications being truncated, therefore it cannot determine that
  the applications are running. This is also an issue for the
  Service manager code, which also checks for its applications,
  such as jobmonapp using a ps listing.
  
  This can be due to a COLUMNS environment variable, which may be
  set on some systems, which limits the size of the ps listings.
  If this variable is set then the application status will not be
  reported correctly. On Solaris, ps listings can also be
  truncated if the user invoking the ps listing does not have
  access to all the processes.

  Apply patch JR43885

Problem conclusion

• Make sure any COLUMNS env var is unset before running ps
  commands to check Ops Console applications are running. Check
  whether JobMonApp is running using the JobMonApp control file
  rather than just the ps listing.
