JR43250: PostProc module is unable to retrieve installation directory from Windows registry when IEM is invoked in citrix

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Customer is facing issues while importing metadata assets via
    import export manager in citrix environment since
    IBMWDISPostProc module is unable to retrieve installation
    directory  from Windows registry.
    
    
    Customer was able to do the same import when invoking IEM from
    the standalone client but when invoking IEM in the citrix
    environment they process is failing in the post processor
    with the below error
    
    Error:-

    Successfully transformed the XML with XSLT.
    Saved the output file D:\TEMP\NBKCPLZ\2\XML5.tmp.xml
    successfully.
    Starting Postprocessor
    'D:\Apps\IBM\8.5_DIT\InformationServer\Clients\MetaBrokersAndBri
    dges\IBM WebSphere Metadata Server
    MetaBroker\IBMWDISPostProc.bat'.
    Waiting for Postprocessor to finish.......
    Postprocessor completed.
    Error : postprocessor failed.
    Error : Fatal error has occurred. Execution terminated.
    

Local fix

  • Continue using IEM in the standalone client
    

Problem summary

  • Import process is unable to retrieve installation directory from
    windows registry when invoked form Citrix environment
    

Problem conclusion

  • Modified the IBMWISPostProcessor to retrieve the installation
    directory from invoking application than from the windows
    registry.
