APAR status

Error description

  • Performance degrades when many DataStage Server jobs using
    hashed file stages are run simultaneously and appears as high
    Kern% time when compared to User%.
    
    The issue was observed while migrating from DataStage 7.5.X to
    Information Server 8.7 on AIX.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Performance of server jobs with hashed file stages decreased in
    the 64bit port of AIX where semop() and a semaphore array is now
    used.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Revert back to the use of internal code and space in the disk
    shared memory segment for semaphore processing on AIX.
