  • Metadata Workbench 8.7 throwing NullPointerException on server
when generating lineage graph.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • when the BI Report Field is contained by a BI Report that does
not have a BI Server / Folder associated with it
invoking lineage on the Field throws an error

error also occurs when invoking lineage on BI Collection, and
selecting members of the Collection

Problem conclusion

  • Applying the patch JR42672 will resolve the issue.
