Error description
Connector Migration Tool is not adding DropUnmatchedFields property when migrating from Oracle EE to Oracle Connector
Local fix
As a workaround, you can set an environment variable to override the runtime default (that is, the default for when the property does not exist): CC_ORA_DROP_UNMATCHED_FIELDS_DEFAULT. If that environment variable is set to TRUE, then Oracle Connector stages that do not have the property will behave as if they had the property set to True. The other workaround is to open the stage, click OK, and save the job. This will cause the GUI to add the property with its correct design-time default of True.
Problem summary
The Oracle EE stage "drop" property was mapped to the Oracle Connector "dropUnmatchedFields" property. The former is only applicable to bulk load, while the latter is applicable to all write modes.
Problem conclusion
The property should be added for all write modes, not just bulk load. Oracle EE stage in upsert mode behaves as if there is such a property and it is set to true (i.e. unmatched fields are always silently dropped).
Temporary fix
Open connector stage GUI and set the property.
