  • Simple job with Teradata Connector selecting  to transformer
with derivation of a new column value "" to peek, when optimised
causes

Teradata_Connector_1: Error creating schema ( record(
FACILITYID:ustring[max=6]; NEWEMPTYSTRING:ustring[0]; ) ) from
DataSetDef provided by connector: In field "NEWEMPTYSTRING":
Parsing parameters "0" for schema type "ustring": Length must be
positive, got: "0"

Problem summary


    

  • After discussion with frame work team & others it is decided to
provide a temporary fix at TDCC

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • TDCC treats string[0] as string[1]. Similar is the case with
CHAR, VARCHAR & LONGVARCHAR
