JR42030: ERROR "(40802) THE SOURCE STAGE DOES NOT CONTAIN INFORMATION FOR THIS LINK" REPORTED WHEN TRYING TO RENAME A JOB DESIGN LINK NAME

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An error "(40802) The Source Stage does not contain information
  for this link" is reported when trying to rename a job design
  link name. This problem can occur because the transformer stage
  has a derivation expression which is longer than 32767
  characters.
  

Local fix

• - open designer to edit job design
  - select transformer stage end of link that cannot be renamed
  and drag to space on the canvas
  - rename dangling link
  - select dangling end and drag back to transformer stage
  

Problem summary

• When renaming a transformer stage input link we attempt to
  update refernces to input link columns in derivation
  expressions. If any derivation expression nis longer that 32767
  this fails with an arithmetic overflow.
  

Problem conclusion

• Issue has been fixed in source and fix will be included in
  future releases.
