Error description

  • This applies ONLY after the 8.7 Operations Console critical
    patch has been installed.

The fix for JR41543 changed the way a date/time was converted to
a string, Now, months can come out as single digits, e.g.
January is "1" whereas it used to be represented as "01".
A consequence is that DSD_ODBEvent.B creates a new events
directory every 10 minutes instead of every hour, depending on
whether the month is Jan-Sep or Oct-Dec.

There is also a small window (only minutes) between the end of
September and start of October where Job event files may
possibly be processed in the wrong order.

    DataStage Operations Console users.
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When Operations Console has been configured to run, running jobs
create event files in the DSODB/Events directory. A new
subdirectory should be created every hour. This issue means that
from January to September event subdirectories are created every
ten minutes rather than every hour. Operations Console will
    still work correctly.
    ****************************************************************
    RECOMMENDATION:
    Apply 8.7 FP1.
    ****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • Fix the directory name generation so they are created every
    hour.
