JR40821: JR40821 DataStage project creation, job execution, and ASBAgent startup fails if AIX stack execution disable (SED) is enabled

Error description

  • Information Server 8.5 base install fails to create a datastage
project if AIX Stack Executon Disable (SED) is enabled

Local fix

  • Turn off the SED at the system level and reboot the machine.

To turn off the SED use the command sedmgr -m off

Problem summary

  • When Stack Execution Disable (SED) is enabled in AIX, the JIT
compiler fails when trying to execute code it generated in the
process data area. This occurs with all of our executables that
have embedded JVMs.

Problem conclusion

  • 



Temporary fix


    

  • Disable SED at the OS level by running sedmgr -m off.
