Error description

  • When trying to connect the DB2 data store on IA by providing
the connection details on Home>Configuration> sources >open
details, we  getting error.

Error: The active DB2 instance is already set to a value

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • DataStage DataConnections are saving a caption field as part
of the
Value field when saved to Xmeta. When read by IA the field
now contains
a non-breaking space (0x0A), delimiting the value and
DisplayValue causing
issues with IA.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • DisplayValues are never stored in the DataConnection, and are
now always
read from the associated StageType.
