JR39552: Importing environment variables removes any non-default values from existing environment variables

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• There are 3 problems:
  1) When importing from a file created
  using the (unsupported)
  DSEnv.exe tool, values are not saved for newly created
  environment variables
  2) Environment variable names > 50
  characters in length cause a runtime error
  3) Importing environment variables removes any non-default
  values from existing environment variables
  

Local fix

Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  Anyone using the environment variable import functionality from
  the Admin client that was introduced in 8.5 fix pack 1.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  1) When importing from a file created using the (unsupported)

  environment variables

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Apply patch JR39552

Problem conclusion

• Changed the way that environment variable values are
  intitialised and changed formatting of report so that it wraps
  with long environment variable names.
  

Temporary fix

• Refer to numbered issues in Problem Summary:
  1) None
  2) None
  3) Reset environment variable values manually.
