JR39522: Issues importing in 8.5 rules that were exported from 8.1.2

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer is reporting issues when importing the Rules
  Package(exported from  812 FP3 IA version) in to 8.5 IA version.
  When they select the exported package and click ?Import? button,
  it says that the ?Package imported successfully? but we were not
  able to see any rules deployed.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  Importing into Information Analyzer 8.5 a project that was
  exported in either 8.1.2 or 8.5 version fails with a Null
  Pointer Exception.
  ****************************************************************
  RECOMMENDATION:
  Upgrade to Information Analyzer 8.5 Fix Pack 2, or 8.7.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• In addition to the above fix, it is also recommended that any
  Data rule that uses the in_reference_column function, such that
  the two rule variable names for the function are identical,
  be changed to use distinct rule variable names before using
  import/export. It does not matter that the two rule variables
  are bound to underlying source table column names that are
  identical.
