Error description
IA UI updated to handle null RIDs of deleted Common Model objects
Local fix
N/A
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Information Analyzer 8.1.1, 8.1.2 and 8.5 users. **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When Column Analysis has been completed followed by Baseline Analysis or any other actions, and then the Metadata is deleted, the objects related to the Metadata are removed from the Common repository. Any Information Analyzer model objects that refer to these Common Model objects will get a blank RID returned. The blank RIDs cause various aspects of the UI to fail. In one case a Stack overflow is caused and the user sees a .NET error message indicating "Unable to load Resource file." **************************************************************** RECOMMENDATION: Upgrade to Information Analyzer 8.5 Fix Pack 2, or 8.7. ****************************************************************
Problem conclusion
Previously, the Information Analyzer User Interface had not been coded to deal with blank RIDs for metadata repository objects.
