APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If a job contains a timestamp column with microseconds extended
property enabled for input and output column of a transformer
stage and DSJobStartTimestamp macro is used in the derivation to
populate the output value then microseconds are being dropped
    from the output.

The dropped microseconds starts occuring only after the first
use of DSJobStartTimestamp function to populate the timestamp
    column.

Local fix

  • Create a derivation with DSJobStartTimestamp macro
that ensures microseconds are assigned to the output value e.g.

    StringToTimestamp(DSJobStartTimestamp:'.000000', "%yyyy-%mm-%dd
    %hh:%nn:%ss.6")

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
    DS 8.5
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A programming error overwrites output timestamp columns internal
microseconds field with input column timestamp field. When input
timestamp data doesn't have microseconds (e.g.
DSJobStartTimeStamp macro) then the output column's microseconds
is disabled for all the records starting from this record.
    ****************************************************************
    RECOMMENDATION:
    Apply the patch.
    ****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • Code fix to ensure that the microseconds is retained if
microseconds is requested in output field.

Temporary fix
