JR38778: VIRTUAL COLUMN IS NOT ANALYZING WHEN SINGLE QUOTE IS USED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If a Virtual column is created with the "Quote" value specified
  as a 2 character sequence, starting either with / or \ ( for
  example /' ), then Column Analysis of the Virtual column fails
  and you will see messages like these in the log files

  This behavior has been observed in Information Server
  8.1 FixPack 2.
  

Local fix

• The problem is observed when \ (back slash) or / (forward
  slash) is used as the first character of a two character
  sequence. The workaround is to use any character other than the
  two above. For example, a two character sequence of &' will work
  fine.
