JR38648: SERVER JOB SEQUENTIAL FILE STAGE ISSUE IF QUOTE CHARACTER IS AN EXTENDED ASCII CODE

Error description

• DataStage Server job sequential file stage will not output
  correct data if the quote character specified in the stage is
  defined with an extended ASCII code (code greater than 128)

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  When NLS enabled as is the case for all supported locales at
  8.5, the sequential file stage has problems handling quote and
  col separator characters in the extended ASCII range 128-253.
  Changing the mapping does not resolve the issue

  Apply patch JR38648, or install 8.5 FP2 or later.

Problem conclusion

• Areas of the server sequential file stage have been reworked to
  resolve several issues. This has entailed handling multibyte
  quotes and column separators at the internal level. Note this
  has not changed the external handling of these components. In
  addition the per column mapping code has been modified to
  correct its handling of quote characters so that the
  functionality is as per the non per-column case for this
  functionality. A change has also been made to the handling of
  input buffers to use the column and row separators to try and
  find a good split point rather than trying to handle the
  possiblity of a multibyte character being split across buffer
  boundaries.
