APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Information Analyzer using data qulaity rule with matches_format
  and 'x' operator does not match any alphanumeric value,
  regardless of casing as documented.
  

Local fix

• Use matches_regex or construct matches_format to use format
  operators that do not contain 'x', if possible.
  
  Fix available in 8.1.2 Fix Pack 5

  Users of Information Analyzer versions 8.1.1 and higher.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  Character pattern 'x' in matches_format should match any
  alphanumeric character.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Upgrade to Information Analyzer 8.1.2 Fix Pack 5, or 8.5 Fix
  Pack 1, or 8.7.
  

Problem conclusion

• Feature was not implemented previously but was listed in the
  documentation.
  Feature is implemented now.
  

Temporary fix

• In many cases, a more performant solution would be for the user
  to specify matching formats via a regex expression.
