JR38542: Performance issue in XML Input Stage due to improper schema caching.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• DataStage parallel job will abort with SIGILL error issued by
  the XML Input stage, when the XML document being processed
  contains a schemaLocation attribute.  The behavior will happen
  even if document validation is turned off.  This problem was
  found on the AIX platform, with Information Server 8.1 Fix Pack
  1, however the problem may also occur on other platforms or fix
  levels with similar symptoms.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Any user who tries to validate multiple XML documents against
  an XML schema using XML Input Stage will see a performance
  issue. XML Input Stage Performance will be affected when
  multiple XMLs are validated against XSDs.This issue is due to
  the absence of schema caching when multiple XMLs are
  involved.And as a result SIGILL is generated.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix is made to the XML Input Stage code to enable schema
  caching when multiple XSDs are involved.After applying the patch
  the issue will not be seen. Apply the patch JR38542 to resolve
  the issue.
