APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• "Invalid Property Value" warning appears in DB2 Connector stage
  GUI when a select statement containing SQL comment is used.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• 1) DB2 Connector: cannot use large user defined
  SQL statement. It's limited to
       30,000 characters in DB2 CC GUI.
    2) DB2 Connector: Inappropriate warning at Connector stage GUI
  for user defined
       SQL statements with comments.
  

Problem conclusion

• DETAILS:
    1) The maximum length for user defined SQL statements is 30000
  characters.
    2) For User defined SQL statements , even if the Statement is
  syntacttically correct
       the Stage Editor throws a warning message, thsi warning
  message has NO effect on
       the runtime.s
  

Temporary fix

• RESOLUTION:
    1) The default SQL statement length in the GUI is made to be
  64000 characters and
       this can be increased or decreased by modifying the
  registry key
       HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ascential Software\DataStage
  Client\Designer\CC_PropertyTree\SQLStatementSize.
    2) The SQL validation has been removed for User-defined and
  generated queries.
