JR38134: JOB COMPILE CAN LEAVE DSENGINE LOCK ON CERTAIN ITEMS

Error description

• When compiling Datastage jobs that reference certain items, a
  DSEngine lock can be left on the items after
  compilation if they have been copied into the DSEngine project
  repository. This affects buildops for parallel jobs;
   it leaves a lock on the associated stagetype record. For
  server jobs, this affects routines and datatypes.
  
  Locks can prevent others using the affected items, and
  can  cause compilation failures for other jobs.
  

Local fix

• If using the Designer, exit the Designer to free the locks.
  This has to be a complete program exit; just closing the job is
  not sufficient.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  DSEngine locks are retained on buildops / stagetype records for
  parallel jobs. For server jobs, locks can be retained on
  routines and datatypes. In all cases, the locks are only
  retained if job compilation has deployed a new or updated
  version of the design item from the design repository into the
  project runtime. The locks can cause compilations of other jobs
  using the same items to hang or display locking errors. The
  locks can be observed using the DSEngine command shell
  LIST.READU EVERY command; they show as RU locks.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Fix is contained in the fix for JR38163, which should be
  installed on client systems.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• Fix ensures that RU locks are freed after deployment of the
  affected objects during job compile.
