JR37893: JOB COMPARE RETURNS UNEXPECTED RESULT IF THERE ARE REJECT LINKS.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The problem is due to the internal handling of reject links and
  the design-time metadata is not up-to-date, and it is this
  metadata which is used for Job Comparisons and Reporting.  In
  this case, a comparison is failing because at some point in the
  job modifications caused the reject link information to be
  updated (with the correct values) and that is later showing a
  difference error, when in fact there is no visible difference in
  the GUI.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Job comparisons report on design-time metadata, a problem was
  discovered with reject links not comparing correctly because
  this metadata was not saved in the job design.
  

Problem conclusion

• Modified the job compiler to update the design-time metadata
  with the current reject links to ensure job reporting and job
  comparisons work correctly.
  
  Having installed this patch, parallel jobs which previously
  encountered problems during comparisons or reports should be
  recompiled to normalize the design-time metadata.
