Error description

• The datastage job comparison tool works by exporting repository
  data to temporary files (xml) objects which are then offered to
  the difference engine prior to generating reports.  These
  temporary files, which are normally deleted after operation
  completes, but before a human is able to make a copy are vital
  in investigations of parsing failures.  Ideally, retaining
  these temporary files should be possible by a 'undocumented'
  registry setting, allowing L2/L3 support engineers to collect
  these files from the customer if the failure cannot be
  reproduced in house.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Requirement to gather diagnostic information from DataStage Job
  Comparisons by retaining the intermediate XML and temporary
  files.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code to retain XML output was originally added to the product in
  DEBUG configurations only - this has been modified to be
  included in normal RELEASE builds.
  
  Having installed the patch, to enable gathering of diagnostics,
  create a folder "C:\DiffDump" and then run the comparison tool
  as normal.
  This folder must be created on the C drive at the root level.
  Additional output can be collected for the DSX parser by
  creating the following sub-directories:
   "c:\diffdump\stagexml"
   "c:\diffdump\custxml"
