JR37733: FOREIGN KEY AND CROSS DOMAIN COUNTS DON'T MATCH

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When running Foreign Key analysis, the Referential Integrity
  Analysis
  violation counts include the [NULL] value. For the same columns,
  a
  Cross Domain Analysis shows a paired column count different from
  the FK
  violation counts, even though the [NULL] value is identified in
  the CD
  Frequency Value link as being unpaired.
  My best guess is that the FK includes the [NULL] in the counts
  for
  violations, but the CD does not include the [NULL] in the counts
  for
  unmatched paired column values. I have manually compared the
  violations
  in the FK Referential Integrity analysis to the CD unmatched
  paired
  column values and they match exactly. This difference in counts
  only
  happens when the violation/unmatched values contain a [NULL]. It
  does
  not happen when the violation/unmatched value is  0  or another
  value.

  Note - we are using a foxpro datasource and SQL Server for the
  iadb and
  xmeta dbs.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  In Foreign Key analysis, the Cross Domain Analysis Counts do not
  match up with the Referential Integrity Analysis violation
  
  counts because NULL values
  were erroneously excluded in Cross Domain Analysis.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Upgrade to Information Analyzer 8.1 Fix Pack 2, or 8.1.2 Fix
  Pack 4, or 8.5 Fix Pack 1.

Problem conclusion

• Null values will not be included in the violation counts.
