JR36961: A PARALLEL JOB WITH JOIN STAGE ISSUES PARTITIONING WARNING AFTER UPGRADING FROM 8.0.1 TO 8.1 FP1

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A parallel job that was designed in 8.0.1, and has not been
  modified, issues a partitioning warning after upgrading to 8.1
  and FP1. This problem is not seen in 8.1 and is specific to Fix
  Pack1.
  
  The warning message is:
  
  buffer(3): When checking operator: Operator of type
  "APT_BufferOperator": will partition despite the
  preserve-partitioning flag on the data set on input port 0.
  
  This did not occur in the 8.0.1 or 8.1 (GA) releases.
  

Local fix

• Set APT_NO_PART_INSERTION=True. This will prevent insertion of
  the partitioner. This may require the user to redesign the job
  with explicit definition of the partitioning.

  Apply patch JR37268.
