JR36482: RESOURCE TRACKER SEEMS TO HAVE A MEMORY LEAK.

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Resource tracker seems to take  up more than required amount of
  memeory when left to run...
  

Local fix

• shutdown resource tracker.
  

Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  Users using Resource tracker application are affected. It is
  noticed on Linux platform.
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  Memory leaks in Resource tracker process. It can be noticed that
  there is a gradual increase in the memory consumption of
  resource_tracker process. In testing it showed that the
  consumption goes upto 100 MB in 6 days and keeps on increasing.
  Memory consumption can be monitored using the Linux monitoring
  tool 'top'.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Please apply the patch JR36482.

Problem conclusion

• The memory leaks have been identified and plugged. Customer can
  periodically monitor the resource_tracker process using the
  Linux monitoring tool 'top'. There should not be any gradual
  increase in memory consumption over a period of time.
