APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • DB2 Connector upsert mode with Array size > 1, if array contains
duplicate keys row will be rejected and warning message given.
However the number of warning messages is more than the number
    of rejected rows.

Local fix

  • Not a good design, duplicate keys in the array will probably not
produce the results the designer required. Look to see if this
is actually what you require, setting array size to 1 will
    remove any ambiguity.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
DB2 Connector jobs where the Write mode property is set to an
Upsert or Delsert mode, and the Array size property is greater
    than one
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When the DB2 Connector's properties are set as follows:
-Write mode property is set to "Update then Insert" or
    "Delete then Insert"
-Array size property is greater than one
and the incoming data violates a primary key or unique key
constraint, the DB2 Connector would issue one extra warning,
    of the format:
DB2_Connector_0,0: Statement INSERT INTO YOURTABLE (COL01,
    COL02) VALUES (?, ?) failed to run.

    ****************************************************************
    RECOMMENDATION:
    Apply patch JR36412
    ****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • The extra warning message will no longer be displayed.
