APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Btach program does an openpath on a hashed file and does a close
  without a file varaible. This worked fine in 751A but at 8.1 on
  solaris it is causing DataStage to appear to hang. The issue is
  that it is leaving the T30 semaphore locked. If we run
  UNLOCK T30LOCK SEMAPHORE
  It allows the system to continue to run. Customer also sees the
  same issue when importing jobs.

  phantom and dsapi_slave executables can take SIGBUS faults on
  Solaris at Information Server version 8.1.
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  phantom and dsapi_slave executables can take SIGBUS faults at
  release 8.1.0.x on the Solaris platform.  Additionally the fault
  occurs while the T30 semaphore is held and results in hangs of
  new phantom and dsapi_slave processes trying to acquire the same
  semaphore.
  ****************************************************************
  RECOMMENDATION:
  A Solaris patch has been produced which will work on both
  8.1.0.0 and 8.1.0.1.

Problem conclusion

• On Solaris, ensure proper memory alignment in functions which
  acquire the T30 semaphore to avoid SIGBUS faults.
