JR35379: RUNNING DSJOB AGAINST REMOTE SERVER IN CLUSTER ENVIRONMENT RESULTS IN FAILURE AND "STATUS CODE = 81016"

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Connection to a remote dsrpc daemon through dsjob fails with
  error messages like:
  
  ERROR:  Failed to open project
  Status code = 81016
  
  This occurs with dsrpcd running and no firewall between the two
  server systems that would prevent a socket connection to the
  port used by dsrpcd (typcially 31538); connection to the server
  via DataStage clients, for example, works fine.
  
  The problem is caused by connect() with an incorrect socket.
  
  To test this issue, add an IPv6 address and alias to
  /etc/hosts and then try:
  
  dsjob -domain NONE -user xx -password xx -server alias
  -lprojects
  
  This should fail with either 81011 or 81016.

  81016 (connection refused) or (2) incorrectly connect to the

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Patch exists for both 8.1.0.0 and 8.1.0.1.

Problem conclusion

• Added code to initialize the sockaddr_in structure prior to
  making assignments to specific fields and passing it to the
  connect() call.
