Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED:  InfoSphere Information Server 8.0.1.1 AIX
  *      customers who are attempting to compile a job that
  *      contains a transformer with a reject link.
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If you compile a job that contains
  *      Transformer stage with a reject link, the compilation
  *      fails with several errors including the following:
  *
  *      ##W IIS-DSEE-TBLD-00000 12:41:20(013) <main_program>
  *      Error when checking composite operator: Output from
  *      subprocess: "[PATH]/[JOB]/[TRANSFORMER].C", line 1142.8:
  *      1540-0274 (S) The name lookup for "inputDS" did not find
  *      a declaration.
  *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:  Back up the job.
  *      Remove reject link from transformer, and recompile.
  *      If the job compile successfully, install patch associated
  *      with the APAR.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• The prior patch that was provided did not function correctly.
  The JR34993 patch that is linked to in the Recommendation
  section addresses the issue, and installs properly.
  

Temporary fix

• Avoid using the reject link within the Transformer stage.  Use
  constraints in the output links for the Transformer stage.
  

Comments

• This is the same problem that was reported for Ascential's eCase
  133137.  However, the patch provided with this eCase is
  defective.  Do not install eCase 133137 patch, and use this
  patch instead.
