JR34027: PROBLEM WITH SETTING PARTIONING TYPE IN TRANSFORMER (ECASE 11822 0)

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The problem can be re-produced as follows:
  
  1. Create a new Parallel job.
  2. Add a Row Generator, a Transformer (CTransformerStage, not
  Basic Transformer)
  3. Add a link from RowGenerator to the Transformer
  4. Add a Link from the Transformer to the Peek Stage.
  5. Open the properties of the Row Generator. Add a column
  "key" with type BigInt
  6. Open the properties of the Transformer.
  7. Open the Stage Properties Dialog of the Transformer
  8. Select Page Inputs Partitioning.
  9. Change Partition Type to "Random"
  10. Press the OK Button
  
  You will get the message box: DataStage: Unknown name and
  cannot save the changes.
  
  Have confirmed that this behaviour is not present in Ds 7.5.2.
  Customer running on Solaris 9,
  but I have also re-produced on Windows 2003.

Problem conclusion

• The incorrect behaviour has been fixed by patch E118220, this
  is a repackage for updated procedures.
