JR33858: RRI FAILS WITH ERROR: FAILED TO CONVERT ANY ITEM

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When using DataStage to create a new Shared Table using the
  Reverse Register Interest wizard it can fail as a result of an
  out of memory condition if the DataSchema it is being added to
  belongs to a containment tree (including the owning Database
  and Host System) that is large.

  The wizard used to create shared tables from table definitions
  can sometimes fail with the error message "Failed to convert
  any items"

  RECOMMENDATION:
  install patch JR33858, this is also included in the 8.1
  critical patch.
  This change is included in 8.1 Fix Pack 1.

Problem conclusion

• This issue can be caused by creating a shared table in a host
  system, database, data schema hierarchy where there are a
   large number of tables for the same host system. Logic has been
  corrected to ensure that the target hierarchy size is not a
  factor in success.
