APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Performance Analysis writes customization setting to this
  Windows registry category:
  
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Ascential Software\DataStage
  Client\Current Version\Designer
  
  Will cause the Performance Analysis to fail for all non admin
  accounts (unless specific permission are granted to the
  DataStage user for this registry key).
  
  Error seen by users is similar to this:
  
  "Exception occured in AnalysisDialog consructor():Requiested
  registry access is not allowed."
  
  Correct Windows Registry key to store the customizaitions is:
  
  HKEY_CURENT_USER\Software\Ascential Software\DataStage
  Client\Current Version\Designer
  
  Since that is user specefic registry.
  

Local fix

• Grant full control to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Ascential
  Software\DataStage Client\Current Version\Designer Windows
  registry key to DataStage users.

Problem conclusion

• The problem is with how the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key is opened.
  It is opening it with write access which is wrong and a bug.
  Itshould be opened with read-only access.
