Error description

  • In DataStage Designer, browsing sub-folders in the Repository
    tree view can fail with

"Repository Access Failure: An error occurred when retrieving
the folder content for '<folder path>'. Failure in repository
    access interface".

This error has only been encountered when Oracle is used for
the Metadata Server (XMeta) repository database. The
underlying problem is an Oracle bug which causes the following
error when XMeta executes an SQL query that contains a LIKE
clause, the LIKE pattern is specified as a parameter, and the
    pattern contains multiple escaped backslashes:

    "java.sql.SQLException: [IBM][Oracle JDBC
Driver][Oracle]ORA-01424: missing or illegal character following
    the escape character".

This APAR is to work around the Oracle bug that is causing this
    error.
