JR32217: PARAMETER SETS IMPORTED FROM A PROTECTED PROJECT GETS READONLY FLAG SET, CANNOT BE CHANGED BY DS ADMIN OR PRODUCTION MGR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When importing a parameter set from a protected project into a
  non protected one, the readonly flag is kept and cannot be
  
  changed or removed even by DS admin or production mgr privs.
  Customer has to use repository explorer to force remove the PS.
  

Local fix

• Use repository explorer to manually remove the parameter set.
  Note there is a workaround in 8.1 for this issue, see APAR
  JR29381.
  It allows you to delete Read Only objects if you are an
  Administrator.
  
  This fix is included in 8.0.1 fix pack 3

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  Objects (other than jobs or shared containers) that are
  exportedfrom a protected project are exported as read-only, so
  when  they are imported into another project, they appear as
  read  only and cannot be modified, deleted or re-imported.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Install patch_JR32217_client_windows_8011 (or request patch for
  other 8.x versions). Major shipping release post 8.1 will
  include the fix
  This change is included in 8.1 FP1

Problem conclusion

• Export changed to export with "real" readonly flag value (i.e.
   not one exposed by protected project status)
  Import changed to import read-only objects as writable
