Error description

  • Table definitions that are created from shared tables in the
repository have a missing quote character at the end of the
locator information. Table defintions can be created from shared
table by using the "Create Table Definition from shared
table..." wizard or it was automatically created if it was
imported using the Connector Metadata Import wizard. This causes
SQLBuilder to fail to locate the table if it was used in the
    SQL.

Local fix

  • The fix will be a client-side fix to include the missing quote
when generating the locator information for table defintions.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
This is a client issue so it is platform independent. Users who
created table definitions from shared tables or imported table
definitions via the connector metadata import wizard will see
this issue if they then used these tables in SQLBuilder.
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Table definitions that were created from shared tables via the
"Create Table Definition from shared table..." or imported via
the connector metadata import wizard has a missing end quote in
the locator information. If these tables are used in the
SQLBuilder, the next time SQLBuilder is opened to re-edit the
SQL an error message is displayed stating that the table could
    not be found.
    ****************************************************************
    RECOMMENDATION:
Install the patch and re-create / re-import the table
    definitions.
This change is included in 8.1 Fix Pack 1.
    ****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed the generation of the locator information to include the
misisng quote when doing either the import or the table
definition creation. Users will need to re-create their tables
or re-import after applying the patch to fix the problem.
