JR31638: LOCKS ISSUES WITH BUILDOPS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Locks issues with buildops: message "Record <buildop name> in
  file DS_STAGETYPES is locked by another user" is displayed when:
  - 1 user is displaying a buildop, 1 another want to display a
  job including this buildop.
  - simultaneous compilation of jobs including the same buildop.
  

Local fix

• No Workaround

  1) starting Designer
  2) opening a job that uses it
  3) compiling a job that uses it

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Install patches:
  JR31638-client (solves 2/3)
  JR31638-server (solves 1)

Problem conclusion

• Operations 1/2/3 above were trying to lock the record to read it
  and then unlock it again. This is unnecessary as a lock is not
  required.
