JR31108: COMMON CONNECTOR METADATA IMPORT WIZARD HANGS IF THERE ARE MULTIPLE VARIANTS OF A CONNECTOR INSTALLED ON A SERVER.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When multiple variants of a connector is installed on the
  server, the common connector metadata import wizard hangs on
  the final page after the import button is pressed.
  Secondly, on the connection page, the datasource/connection
  string is displayed via a combo box. This makes it difficult to
  enter long multi line connection strings.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  1. If multiple variants of a connector is installed in an ISF
  installation, the connector metadata import will hang on the
  last screen when the import button is pressed.
  2. Oracle connector. A connection string may be entered
  manually. Since connection strings may be long and multilined,
  it is difficult to use the DSN combobox to edit this
  information.

  Apply patch.

Problem conclusion

• 1. Fixed hang on import.
  2. Updated combobox control to handle pasting of multilined
  strings and have a buddy elipses control to show a dialog for
  editing connection strings.
