JR30806: PERFORMANCE ISSUE CREATING 450 TABLES VIA SHARED METADATA IN IS801 DESIGNER

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After importing an Erwin model with 450 table definition into
  XMETA, the 'create table from shared metadata' function is
  taking far too long to create the definitions within DataStage.
  
  In my example, I select 450 tables and the import/creation only
  managed to create 140 tables in over 6 hours.
  

Local fix

• The work-around is to select fewer tables for table creation.
  This means more manual steps, but the tables will be created
  much quicker.
