JR30510: THE DB2 API STAGE NEEDS TO VERIFY METADATA DEFINITIONS AT CONNECT TIME AND HANDLE MISMATCHES LIKE THE DRS STAGE.

Error description

• The DB2 API stage needs to verify metadata definitions at
  connect time and handle mismatches in the same way as the DRS
  stage.
  
  If the metadata defined for a column does not match the actual
  DDL definition for the table it can lead to a server engine hang
  when View Data is used from a DB2 API stage on AIX and incorrect
  results will be displayed on Red Hat Linux. The job will run
  successfully but the results may not be correct.
  
  It is requested that the DB2 API stage be corrected to handle
  metadata mismatches in the same way as the DRS stage.
  

Local fix

• The ODBC stage or DRS stage can be used to work around the issue
  in most cases.
  
  This fix is included in 8.0.1 fix pack 3

Problem conclusion

• The issue is fixed in patch_JR30510. User should see warnings in
  case the column sizes specified in the job are less than those
  in the table. In case of fatal truncations while reading data,
  the job will abort with errors indicating the row and column
  where truncation occurred.
