Abstract

The converter program in SupportPac CA8H can be used to provide support for codepage 930 when using the CICS 3270 Web Bridge.

Download Description

Due to the positioning of the lower case characters in codepage 930 the HTML that CICS creates, for use with the 3270 Web Bridge, will not work if the host codepage is 930. If you try to use the HTML that CICS creates then the browser will display Katakana characters in place of every HTML tag.

This SupportPac provides a web converter program (DFH$C930) that will translate the HTML that the 3270 Web Bridge creates into codepage 930. This allows the HTML to display correctly on the browser.

Prerequisites

Users of this SupportPac need to be skilled in the following:
  • CICS assembler programming.
  • Be familiar with HTML source.
  • Be familiar with CICS 3270 Web Bridge setup

Any release of CICS that contains the 3270 Web Bridge function:
  • CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V5.2
  • CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V5.1
  • CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V4.2
  • CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V4.1
  • CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V3.2
  • CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V3.1
  • CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V2.3
  • CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V2.2
  • CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V2.1
  • CICS Transaction Server for OS/390 V1.3
  • CICS Transaction Server for OS/390 V1.2

To download the SupportPac:
  1. Click on the download link below and save the file to your local machine.
  2. Extract the saved file to a temporary directory on your target machine. This will create the necessary installation files.
  3. Follow the instructions in the included documentation to complete installation of this SupportPac.
