PK67537: AUTHORING TOOLS USE THE WRONG CONTEXT WHEN APPLIED TO PZN CMPNTS THAT ARE REFERENCED VIA THE ELEMENT TAG

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Authoring tools are applied using the <AuthoringTool>
tag. When applying Authoring Tools to menus and
navigators the edit, delete and approve functions are
applied to each item displayed in a menu or navigator.
    .
This is done by setting the context parameter of the tag
    to "AutoFill".
    .
PZN components (menus) that are referenced using the
component tag in a presentation template result in the
expected behavior as described above. However, PZN
components referenced using the element tag do not and
instead the edit, delete and approve functions are
applied to the top level content.
    STEPS TO RECREATE:
    1)Created authoringtoolscmpnt with edit design <a href="
      <Placeholder tag="sitepath"/>" target="_blank">
      <Placeholder tag="name"/></a>
2)Created pzn component with design <AuthoringTool
      context="autoFill" name="sampleauthtool1"/><Element
      context="autoFill" type="content" key="Region"/>
3)The PZN Component references a rule which is supposed
to display to contents having the text element "Region"
      with values EU and NA
4)Created Presentation template with FROM ELEMENT TAG
      <Element context="current" type="content" key=
      "CmpntRef"/> FROM COMPONENT TAG<Component name=
      "Web Content/samplepzncmpnt"/>
5)Previewed the template with another content.
    .
KeyWords: AuthoringTool Authoring Tools element context
               autofill current

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Users Affected: All Java edition LWWCM users

    Problem Description:
    Detailed Problem Description:

Links generated by AuthoringTools tag would point to the content
from the context instead of the result when used with autofill
    option.

Problem conclusion

  • Problem Analysis:

A change introduced in PK66814 also required a corresponding
change in the class which resolves the authoring tools tag.

Failing Module: WCM - Web Content Management (General)

    Problem Solution:

Introduced the extra if condition in this class so that it is in
    sync with changes of PK66814.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All the items which have been renamed would have
to be saved again after appying this fiix. A better way to
achieve this would be to run the RefreshAllItemsModule (withe
the preserver_dates option) to resave all the items as
    documented in the infocenter.
