PK62631: CHANGES IN PATH NAME AND TRUNCATED PATH NAME CAUSE ISSUE WITH ACCESSING ITEMS AFTER MIGRATION AND RUNNING CONFIGURE-LOCAL TASK

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer completed the migration of the system from 5.x to 6.x.
  Customer noticed that after running the configure-local task,
  there were some name paths that were truncated or changed during
  the transfomration of the data.  CU subsequently is having
  problems with the LRP and RRP because the path names have not
  been transformed correctly.
  
  They require manual correction for the name truncation, but need
  a fix for the path change as there are hundreds and customer is
  not able to manually correct these

  Detailed Problem Description:
  
  During a portlet migration, the names of components and content
  is truncated due to an incorrect item ID number.
  

Problem conclusion

• Problem Analysis:
  
  It is incorrectly assumed that if we can't find the ID in the
  list of migrated items, then it is a version 6 item. This will
  then attempt to add the library name to the component path,
  which fails because it expects the library to already exist.
  
  
  Failing Module: WCM - Web Content Management (General)
  
  Problem Solution:
  
  If an item does not exist in the list of migrated items, but is
  found to be a version 5 ID, then the contents of the portlet
  will not be edited, and the message "Unable to update the
  portlet: <Portlet Name>" will appear in the migration logs.
  Customers can then edit the portlet with that name to point to
  the correct items.
