PK57055: CPU SPIKES DURING SYNDICATION ON WINDOWS OS

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • At the end of the syndication run the CPU was found to spike for
a couple of minutes before settling down and the same cycle
would repeat each time syndication run. The following thread was
found to be the culprit :

    3XMTHREADINFO "WorkManager.wpsDefaultWorkManager : 21"
    (TID:0x10B529C0, sys_thread_t:0x61BC0E08, state:R, native

    Manager.
    java:839)

It was determined that a file input stream was opened by WCM
which was not closed before attempting a file delete and this
was responsible for the CPU spikes. It needs to be noted that
this is a Windows specific problem since file locking works
differently on UNIX and this behaviour would not be seen there.
