Error description

• The error is occurring during the pre-rendering of a navigator
  component
  that has a paging component in the footer section.
  
  The null pointer exception is then written to the logs
  com.aptrix.pluto.cmpnt.CmpntReference - Exception:
  java.lang.NullPointerException. Will continue rendering.
                                   java.lang.NullPointerException
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Users Affected: All users prerendering WCM content that
  references a paging component.
  
  Problem Summary: While prerendering WCM content, if a paging
  component is referenced, a null pointer exception will be
  written to the SystemOut.log file.
  

Problem conclusion

• WCM stores paging state information in the session object of the
  request.  Since prerendering is done as a background task, there
  is no session, so the null pointer was encountered.
