After a link outage, SLI_OPEN calls are hung and do not complete
even after the link has recovered.

Problem summary


    

  • USERS AFFECTED:
  All applications the use the SLI API.

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  The SLI stub uses the RUI API to interact with an LU.
  When a link outage occurs, it is possible for the RUI
  API to return synchronously even though it usually
  returns asynchronously. In some specfic cases the SLI
  stub fails to check that the RUI call may have returned
  synchronously and so fails to process the return properly.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The SLI code has been modified to ensure that it always checks
whether the RUI call has returned synchronously or
asynchronously.
